Politics and the REAL Issues

It can't get more important than that, folks.

So... Obama/Biden versus McCain/Palin. Thoughts?

Hot Tub!

I need to find time for this again.

I need some napalm

So, yeah.

I got drunk last night on scotch and rum... Not in the same glass, though.

There were texts. There were phone calls. There was information. There was sleeping.

I really shouldn't drink anymore.

Hockey Role (meme)

Your result for The Hockey Role Test...

The Playmaking Center

You're conservative, cerebral, and a good friend. On a hockey team, you'd be the Playmaking Center, the architecht of the offense. Capable of distributing passes to your linemates through the thickest of traffic, the opposing team always has to be wary of your crafty puck-moving ways.

Nicklas Backstrom is a prime example of a young playmaking center.

Open Book

I've had a number of "open book" conversations lately, with various people.

All in all, I think it's been a good thing. People can ask anything they want, for the most part, and get the information they want. It clears the air, I think. People can then see through the fog, and get a bigger and better understanding of the proverbial picture.

And you learn more about the souls you interact with.

Honesty and clarity -- two important things of communication. The problem is, though, that we instead use barriers and we twist things around them.

Why do we veil everything, instead of being honest?

A bit of the Crows...

It's 1:30 in the morning
But that's alright by me
Weren't you just waiting by the phone
I should give a little warning
But I need the things I need
I'm not proud to need a hand
But I just don't understand

So, why should you come when I call?
I never say nothing at all
Why do I go, when I go?
It's leaving me here all alone
You ought to get out on your own

Ain't necessarily a bad thing
To believe the things I say
Cause you can make yourself feel good
You know it's really not a good thing
To give everything to me
I'm just waiting for the show
Cause I got no where to go

So, why should you come when I call?
I never say nothing at all
Why do I go, when I go?
It's leaving me here all alone
You ought to get out on your own

Cause nothing makes me feel so good
Gets me high
So I sleep at night
And lets me know that everything's alright
I feel nice

I'm so sorry in the morning
You could believe what you believe
I'm used to waking up alone
And if you think about it
Anyone you think about is better love than me
But if you've not fallen quite asleep
I might call tonight
If that's alright...

Why should you come when I call?
I never say nothing at all
Why do I go, when I go?
It's leaving me here all alone
You ought to get out on your own

Perception Personality (a meme)

Your result for The Perception Personality Image Test...

NBPC - The Daydreamer

You perceive the world with particular attention to nature. You focus on the hidden treasures of life (the background) and how that fits into the larger picture. You are also particularly drawn towards the colors around you. Because of the value you place on nature, you tend to find comfort in more subdued settings and find energy in solitude. You like to ponder ideas and imagine the many possibilities of your life without worrying about the details or specifics. You are in tune with all that is around you and understand your life as part of a larger whole. You are a down-to-earth person who enjoys going with the flow.

New Level of Hottness

Ladies and gentlemen, I have found a new level of hotness.

While I think Hayden Panettiere is attractive, she hadn't achieved a niche in my brain... until now.

Hayden and Stanley

This probably occurred because of her Heroes co-star Michigan native Kristen Bell's love for Red Wings goaltender Chris Osgood, but yeah. Hot chicks and Lord Stanley's cup?

Yum.

Now, if she were only wearing A Red Wings sweater...

Blackout (two-fold)

After this past weekend, I need to acquire some of the Great Lakes Brewing Company's "Blackout Stout".

It was fan-fucking-tastic.

Ironically, when I finally came to rest at home, a good chunk of my general area was hit with a two hour blackout.

Coincidence?

Completely.

Mixed Up S.O.B.

So, it turns out that Presidents of the United States of America (remember "Lump", "Peaches", or "Volcano"?) have released a new album, and "Weird Al" Yankovic directed the video for the first single "Messed Up Son of a Bitch".

Awesome.

Toledo Zoo!

I went to the Toledo Zoo on Saturday with Scooter, Kim, and Sadie, and met up with Stepho, Garvin, and Cat.

HIPPOS!

Those are hippos. The one on the left never put his head above water for air. The one on the right did, but kept looking like he was plotting his escape... But yeah, I liked the Detroit Zoo better. Toledo made it hard to find out what you were looking at, and didn't seem to have as much variety of animals. Still, it was a good time.

Meme: Ghostbusters

I am a nerd. Ghostbusters rules.

Your result for Which Ghostbuster are you?...

Peter Venkman

You are Peter. You don't take anything in life too seriously and maybe that's why you handle ghosts so well. Instead of being scared by them, they are simply another mind to toy with, another hapless victim of your wit and practical jokes. A master of both psychology and parapsychology, you keep the Ghostbusters in good PR, and keep the ghosts on their toes.

This is for everyone who has seen the Dark Knight at least once...

Transitions

I know I've had some High Fidelity "what does it all mean" moments in my life, but it's incredibly odd to be on the other end of them. It's a strange feeling when people come to you and pose that question, and even though you could be an open book about almost every minute detail of life, you can tell that unless they come clean in the same aspect, they won't find their curiosity sated.

IMG_6322

I know there's a couple of souls which this applies to, and I know they've been reading. But, I know that there are others who might not read often, who might want to think about having one of these moments and truly evaluating what's in their lives, and the possibilities.

This comes up because in my head, I've shifted.

I've changed a lot lately, even though it hasn't seemed like much to the outside world. I haven't been one to hang out with a ton of people, and a lot of people probably think I've pretty much cut them out. In a way, yes, but I'm in a transitional state, lately. I've been hanging out with those people in my life who seem to be neutral or offer a more individual view of things. I need different perspectives. I need to find new outlooks. I need something new.

And oddly enough, I've been hanging out with mostly women. Truly, there's a perspective change in that, eh?

"If I want to sit in and drink super tennants in the day I will,
No-ones going to fucking tell me jack,
But can you rely on anyone in this world?
No you cant; its all my fault theres wall to wall empty cans."

"The end of the something i did not want to end,
Begining of hard times to come.
But something that was not meant to be is done,
And this is the start of what was."

~The Streets, "Empty Cans"

Television!

So, most of my friends know that I don't have cable. I don't watch enough television to necessitate having it. I did, however, get a digital converter box yesterday.

I hooked the thing up and let it scan for channels, and you know what I found?

Channel 2 shows old TV shows like the A-Team, The Incredible Hulk, and Wonder Woman.

80's HEAVEN.

I may have just re-ignited my television bug. Screw Heroes, what's Face and the boys up to this week?
