HA!

Odds are, this is how it will end up going for me, if I can ever get to this point.

Weekend

Another day, another dollar, or so it seems.

The weekend was nice, with nothing truly taxing. I headed up to Gladwin and hung out with Larry and a couple other peeps. We had a few beers and just chilled... and played beer pong.

I then traveled to St. Helen to visit the Brace family and meet their new addition. Such a fussy colic-y baby, but it's nice to be around the kid. even if she screams and keeps me awake at 3:30. It's all part of the baby experience.

The trip made me realize how much I miss these friends, and how I need to make sure we stay in better contact.

Side note: I am very sore from futon and couch sleeping, and I'm currently re-finding the gloriousness of the Foo Fighters first album. (Which is really all the genius of Dave Grohl...)

Post 666 - Chud's right

Chud is right. I've been weirdly emo lately in my posts.

This needs to change, or at least those posts need to start going elsewhere. Perhaps to my lawn so my lawn can be so emo it will cut itself. I should get back to weird stories and thoughts, such as Smurfs being the ferrymen on the river Styx...

My peeps will know what's up with that one...

Sometimes

Large fingers pushin' paint
You're God and you got big hands
The colors blend
The challenges you give man...

Seek my part
Devote myself,
My small self
Like a book amongst the many on a shelf

Sometimes I know
Sometimes I rise
Sometimes I fall
Sometimes I don't
Sometimes I cringe
Sometimes I live
Sometimes I walk
Sometimes I kneel
Sometimes I speak of nothing at all
Sometimes I reach to myself, dear God....

Dreams

Actually remembered a dream last night.

It's interesting how vivid some things can be.

I need an interpretation.

That's all for now.

"I'm an artist -- torture is a prerequisite."

Interesting quote to ponder.

And... Done.

Bathroom's done being painted. Time to figure out if I want to change the bedroom color and pick out the living room colors.

Does that make me sound gay? (Don't answer that.)

Only meant for the eyes

I was just reading an article on CNN about the Interstate 35W bridge in Minneapolis collapsing. One quote stuck out at me:

"I realized there was nothing I could do so I continued to take pictures," [Jacob] Reynolds said. "I realized I couldn't capture it on film. It couldn't fit it in the camera. Some things are meant only for the eyes."

This is incredibly true, I think. I think there are so many images that can't be captured via film in any capacity. I mean, hell, I don't think Rachel McAdams has ever taken a good photo, but she is a beautiful woman when she can move around. Some people just radiate beauty.

In regards to the accident, it freaked the hell out of me, since I was driving on 280 in Ohio yesterday, more specifically, over the bridge they had been building for what seems like over ten years. Rumor has it that the bridge had toppled a few times, and at least five workers have died while dealing with the bridge. (As per a Free Press article regarding the 280 project.)

But, the quote still sticks out to me. "Some things are meant only for the eyes." I only remember that events happen, and the details which I found so enticing of a moment all wash away, because these things may have only been meant for the moment, for the eyes. They weren't meant to be remembered or captured.

A shame, really, but it reminds us to really take in the moments that we have.
