Post-Turkeyday

Yeah, so I'm slacking on completing the new design. Shut the fuck up, dicks. Yeah, I mean you.

Things have died down since Thanksgiving is over. The turkey is gone, along with all the proverbial "fixins", and we only have a slice or two of Grandma's pumpkin pie left. The Christmas shopping has begun, and I still have fifteen people to buy for. Six down, fifteen to go. It's not surprising that five of the six who are done are kids, right?

I've been on a major re-organizational kick, and I'm once again trying to re-structure my life. I'm trying to recover all the money I'm owed, and get things straitened out. If I can get all of this done before the New Year, I'll be a happy guy.

I got out and shot the Thunderbirds Are Now" CD release party for the EP, "Necks". It's a good little disc, and you should pick it up as soon as possible. The evening went pretty well, and I'm happy with the visual work I did, but I think I need to contact Canon to see if I can still send my XL1 for a free cleaning or not. The audio was incredibly muffled, but it was loud there, and the camera was set to automatically adjust levels. Supposedly, I get one free cleaning/tune-up for registering the camera with Canon, so time will tell. If not, I need to send it in anyway and bite the cost.

I think I'm going to contact some of my friends around the country I haven't talked to in a while. After talking with Ashley in Oklahoma last night, I think I'll have to dial up Mr Faust, and maybe Mr. Blanchard. I'll touch base with the people in Ohio too. They all need touching. I mean contacting.

Ok. I just talked to Canon. It's a discounted amount for the cleaning, but it's one-third of the price. I figure since I bought the damn thing in 2001, it needs a good cleaning. After I get dad's reel footage project all imported, off the camera goes!

Well, I think I'll hit up the bar after I get my Louise call, unless she doesn't call soon. I have a friend who will be waiting at a local bar for me. Beer and boozing it up! Yeah!

New design

Yeah, I'm re-designing.

As soon as I have more time, I'll get it looking better. So, deal.

And now, the news...

Finally.

The damned wedding video is done. It's all edited, and sent off to two DVDs - one for the vault and one for the married couple. All I have to do is slap all the chapters together and shoot it to VHS. Once that's done, I can erase it from my computer and get cracking on some of the other projects I've got on my plate.

I've managed to cram ninety-nine percent of my CDs into two CD books, but I need to get another to give everything the room it needs. I left a number of CDs out due to them being samplers or mix CDs. It's nice to be able to easily take my music with me, but I fear the theft of my CDs. I guess if I wasn't supposed to keep them, they will be taken. Besides, fate is fate.

Life is gotten to be quite slow and drawl, but I'm managing to find some inspiration and I've been able to get some things done. Video work is abound, and I'm digging it. I keep leaving my headphones atthe office, so I haven't been able to dive into the audio work for Character Assassination like I've been wanting to, but I'm currently grabbing some screenshots from a rough cut of Falling Apart I was given. I think I'll pop out some shots that I really liked the setup on, do some color, brightness, and contrast corrections, and set those up on the JTC Productions site.

I've also gotten to be a bit more healthy in my mindset. I've begun trying to get rid of the area I store beer in, and I'm trying to eat much more healthy. Vitamins are great things for metabolism, and the fact I despise eating makes it that much more great. Could this be a new me? Who the fuck knows.

Happy 229th, USMC!

Ladies and Gentlemen, please. If you see someone who was in the United States Marine Corps today, please with them a happy birthday. To quote the USMC website:

The United States Marines have defended and fought for the American people since before the Continental Congress approved the Declaration of Independence. Congress authorized two battalions of Marines on November 10, 1775 - the official birth of the Marine Corps.

Since its inception, the Marine Corps has celebrated a legacy unlike any other. Its force is rich in history and traditions - upholding three core values that are at the soul of its institution: honor, courage and commitment.

Our corporate sponsors are Jagermesiter and Red Bull

Time for a general life/project update, I suppose.

Life has been going alright, but there are always aspects which need bettering. Time will tell on those. I've been itching to travel lately, but I don't really feel like leaving my area. I just need something. Not sure what. As for my projects, well...

The old projects:

  • Wedding - I'm still working on this damn thing, but it's just a matter of finding out the damn date it was on, so I can do some graphic work. The rest is sitting through the dances, some slight color and brightness corrections, and it's out the door.

  • Character Assassination - I haven't touched it yet.

  • Mistake - This thing has been shelved till at least mid-November, due to not being able to find someone to play the lead.
And now, the new:
  • Reel Footage - I've been working with my dad to transfer old projector footage to DVD, and adding some color correction and music to them, just to spice them up. It's time consuming, but it's pretty easy.

If you are looking for some fun, check out HoboWars. I've been having a blast playing. Please be sure to click that link and sign up, because I get some hobocash from it.

That's about it for now.

Short, but sweet. Not.

The weekend held two gatherings, both run in their own rights. The first held good friends in Ohio and a lot of Jagermeister. The second held good local friends and the Evil Dead. Holloween itself was a ripe bastard in that it sucked.

I had jury duty today, which blew. I managed to barely avoid a trial, and was released around noon. The rest of the day held work, dinner, and a visit with Hoops and Lou.

I teally don't have a whole hell of a lot to say here, but...

With the election process beginning in the AM, please go vote. No matter who you like and who you hate, please actually go and vote. You have no right to bitch about candidates unless you take part in the government process.
