So, DTE just called me. (For those not in the metro Detroit area, they supply me with electricity and gas.) Apparently, they found a gas leak on my property on June 12, and would like to schedule a day for me to be home as they need someone there when they repair it.
WTF?

Thanks for being so prompt on a gas leak, DTE! Seriously! I might not have the congestion problems I'm having if, you know, you may have DONE YOUR JOB WHEN YOU FOUND THE LEAK!
You know, because like, I'm not PAYING for gas that's leaking out and I'm not using, right? Health or home explosion aren't possible factors, right?

... That's enough to make me want to turn off my gas service and buy a huge Liquid Propane Gas tank for my heating and cooking needs.

Ah yes, DTE...who swears that I never called to shut off my power. Then continued to provide service to whoever the hell moved in after me for a fucking YEAR without collecting a payment. Never mind that when I was at the Redford house, we couldn't be more than a week late with the bill before having our shit turned off.
Their suggestion? Track the people down, maybe they'll give you the money.

Get a few solar panels, too. Just enough to power the A/C. Make the fuckers pay YOU for electricity.
DTE just sent me $150 rebate for a meter malfunction at my house I lived in THREE YEARS AGO!
Heck Ya! I love getting money sent to me completely out of the blue.
