I'm back

I already miss the ocean.
The trip was amazing, but I never got the relaxation or clarity I had on the last trip. I guess it was foolish to go looking for that. I was hoping to figure out the next few months of my life, and I ended up not being able to think about things. But the trip was fun. There were numerous tales and such, but I think I'll leave them alone for now. For now, I think I'll relax and stare at pictures of the ocean.

clarity? relaxation? a whaaaa?
Admit it. There was at least one point while on the cruise that you were standing on the deck, looking at the water, and feeling the need to jump in.
Oh, gladly, Rev. Gladly.
Last year the urge was much larger. This year, I actually was examining security to see if I could, but the urge wasn't as high to complete the plan.
It's Riker!
I anted to jump in from day 1.
I thought they should have made it a ship event. Anyone who wants to jump off can do so while in port at Grand Cayman. They could have Boats waiting, and of course a rescue diver for those who think they can swim, or pretend they are "propellor guy" from Titanic.
Uh... a chick got her leg bit off while swimming in the ocean from a cruise ship. Count me out.
uh... a dude got killed by a drunk driver while driving to work. count me out
uhh... dude got killed hitting his head after falling out of bed. count me out.
There is risk, and then there is avoidable risk. Assholes.
scooter, there were 62 shark attacks world wide last year. 4 fatal. in 2005, there were 16,885 alcohol related fatalities in the US alone. i can't find the data for people who died from falling out of bed, but i bet it's more than 4. where's your risk now?
Hence... the term... "AVOIDABLE RISK". I can AVOID swimming in the ocean while on an ocean cruise. I CAN'T avoid sleeping (somewhere), and I choose to risk driving with drunks because of the benefits given to me from it... income.
There is no worthwhile benefit from tempting fate in the middle of the deep blue sea.
So...you make money off of driving with drunks?
You do know that you just put a dollar value to your life, right?
Hope it's more than gas money.
avoidable? did you not read that? 62. 4 fatal. of the millions of people in the ocean in any given year worldwide. 62 got bit. 4 didn't live to get bit again. swimming in the deep blue sea increases your chances by such an imperceptible amount that calling it an avoidable risk is actually a slap in the face to word risk.
